Step 1 - Sign in to Scratch 3.

Step 2 - Click on the blue, Add Extension, button in the bottom left of the Scratch window.

Step 3 - From the Choose an Extension window, find and select micro:bit.

A pop up will appear showing the device name for the micro:bit and the same text should simultaneously scroll across the display on the micro:bit.
