2. Simple control systems

Computer control is a vitally important application for computers in almost every walk of life today. In education, the connection of sensors to computers for input and actuators for output is often termed 'physical computing' because it involves the connection of physical components such as light sensors, LEDs, buzzers, temperature sensors, motors etc. to a computer.

The micro:bit was specifically designed as a device to make the teaching of physical computing in schools accessible by providing a simple and inexpensive resource for use by both primary and secondary school pupils.

Pages 3 to 6 of this website describe some simple control projects to get you started.
