Description-
This artifact is a written statement about how important it is to stay connected with the parents of students. It was produced in 2021. It was written to help get a better understanding of how to initiate that parent/teacher relationship.
Connection-
The importance of the this artifact is to develop a strong relationship with the parents/guardians of my students. It shows evidence of understanding by giving multiple ways to connect it the proper manner. It shows that I am becoming more of a professional by creating professional relationships. Knowledge indicator 8D states, "understands the benefits, barriers, and techniques involved in parent and family collaborations". This is a great way to utilize all resources that parents can give.
Learned-
I have learned how to establish the proper form of communication for each situation. I will continue to use these skills as I progress into my teaching career. Establishing a good rapport with parents is one of the foundation skills needed to be an outstanding teacher.
Description-
This artifact is an email of the agenda for our district in-service. It contains the agenda of the day and where we need to go during the in-service. It was created in March of 2022. It was created so that the faculty will know what to do and what is expected for the day.
Connection-
The importance of this artifact is to display to the faculty what will be happening for the day. It shows evidence of understanding of the standard because it shows how we can work together as a whole group but the split off into our sub-groups to complete our PLC tasks. This district in-service follows performance indicator 8J because it allowed me to," work with all school personnel (e.g., support staff, teachers, paraprofessionals) to develop learning climates for the school that encourage unity, support a sense of shared purpose, show trust in one another, and value individuals".
Learned-
I learned how an entire district comes together to formulate what is best for the students. This is important because we work with many other teachers and administrators everyday so being able to collaborate is a crucial. This will help me when I am new to a district or school so that I know where I can reach out to for advice.
