Description-
This is an assignment that was given at upon completion of our daily lesson. It contains scenarios that need to be classified into either signs or symptoms. This was created during my student teaching semester. It was produced to display how well the students received the information.
Connection-
The importance of this assignment was to get an understanding of whether or not the students were comprehending the lesson. It shows evidence of the standard because depending on how they did, my lesson for next day may have to be adjusted to focus on specific topics. The results of this artifact, "uses assessment results to determine student performance levels, identify learning targets, select appropriate research-based instructional strategies, and implement instruction to enhance learning outcomes" as stated in performance indicator 7J.
Learned-
I have learned how useful assessments are in all stages of learning. All students need to be progressing in order to move to the next topic. This artifact will help me to develop relevant assessments for all of my future classes. I will use this information to be sure that my instruction and planning are very efficient.
Description -
This is a rubric for an infectious disease project for our health unit. It contains how the scoring works and the criteria needed for the project. It was produced during my student teaching semester in 2022 and it is used to score the students projects.
Connection-
The importance of this project is to show the students what they need in order to do well on the assignment. It shows evidence of the standard by giving clear instruction of what is required by the students. If they don't do well in a certain area, I can focus more on that area in our next lesson. This rubric aligns with performance indicator 7K because it, "appropriately uses a variety of formal and informal assessments to evaluate the understanding, progress, and performance of an individual student and the class as a whole".
Learned-
I have learned how to score my students appropriately on their assignments. This will help to develop even better rubrics that are used for my projects and my assignments. This will help to clear up any confusion in my future classroom in terms of grading, assignment reflection, and criteria.
