Description-
This artifact is and interview of two current high school students. It contains their responses and insight into reading and critical thinking. It was produced in my fall semester of school in 2020. It was produced to hear the perspective of current students after they read a specific passage.
Connection-
The importance of this artifact is to further understand what is going through the mind of a high school student when they're reading specific texts. This shows evidence of understanding of the standard by further clarifying how they feel and why they respond the way the do. It aligns with this standard because this artifact gauges the comprehension level of the reader through their response. This artifact displays characteristics of knowledge indicator 6B which states, "the competent teacher understands that the reading process involves the construction of meaning through the interactions of the reader's background knowledge and experiences, the information in the text, and the purpose of the reading situation"
Learned- This artifact taught how different every student is in the way the read and respond to specific texts. This knowledge will be applied to my future lessons and instruction for my students. It has really given me a good insight into how high school students think and act.
