Bridges is a short-term program and students typically participate for four to twelve weeks.
Bridges is housed in room B59 on the 2nd floor of MHS.
Bridges may also support students that have not been hospitalized but are regularly missing school and class time due to emotional issues. We use a strengths based model and work hard to build trust and communication with students.
A typical block in Bridges may include:
Seeing teachers for 1:1 meetings with Bridges staff.
Checking in with the Bridges school psychologist.
Making a plan with the academic coordinators to catch up on work.
Doing schoolwork.
Meeting and talking with other students.
Students can use the Bridges room to work on class assignments during free periods.
Students can use the Bridges room to talk with staff and other students.
Students can use the Bridges room to make up quizzes and tests, pending the approval of their teachers.
Students in need of individualized academic assistance can arrange time with the academic coordinators, Mr. Fitzgerald and Ms. Mitchell.
Students may use the Bridges room to help regulate their emotions. when they are feeling overwhelmed during the school day.
Students may eat lunch in the Bridges classroom.
Students may listen to music on their personal music devices.
Students may not use their cellphones for things other than music in the Bridges room.
Students may not sleep in the Bridges room.
Eat lunch in the Bridges classroom.
Check in with staff when your adjustment counselor is unavailable.
Get help communicating with teachers.
Drop in anytime you are experiencing a crisis.
