The target market of our virtual program is the residents of the Magnolia Glen independent and assisted living community. We hope to reach each resident of the Magnolia Glen community through videos that can be sent to their announcements channel to view at their pleasure. We are aiming for just the residents of the community, but Magnolia Glen also has a YouTube channel, where people can find the videos. We also plan on sending letters and puzzles to the residents to help strengthen their minds and hearts.
Our venue for these videos is the apartments of the residents at Magnolia Glen. At a time when they are restricted to the confines of their rooms, we are hoping to cheer them up and show them that the world outside hasn't stopped.
We have chosen to send the videos/letters of encouragement and do a puzzle of the week because it will appeal to the older residents that live at Magnolia Glen. We feel that they could use some uplifting in these tough times of COVID-19 and the puzzle of the week will keep their mind's stimulated and engaged.
It allows our team at Magnolia Glen to fulfill our desired outcomes of the program because we are giving the resident's videos/ and games to follow along with that will make them happy, while also following the guidlines of quarantine. The resident's happiness and safety are the desired outcomes of this program. We believe that by showing these on their TV Channel, we can reach the entire community while in the comfort of their own living room!
Some of our short term goals were to follow the guidlines set out by the state of North Carolina and our goal was to create a program that could touch the people during hard times and also give them something to do while they are stuck in their rooms. We felt that with the TV Channel system that Magnolia Glen operates, that would be a perfect way to reach the large community at Magnolia Glen. Another short term goal of the team was to tie in our previous ideas of Mid-Atlantic trivia into the new puzzle/trivia game that we will be playing weekly. The residents at Magnolia Glen tend to lean towards enjoying cognitive activities. We were able to successfully obtain our short-term goals by coming up with great ideas and getting them approved by the staff at Magnolia Glen. These short-term goals will help us to move towards our desired goal which is the happiness and safety of the residents.
