Our Plan B is to move the event inside the Magnolia Glen facility. We can hide the eggs in the main area of Magnolia Glen. We can have the event around the other games, photo station, and face painting area.
Our event at Magnolia Glen had a pretty flexible budget. A spreadsheet was created for the budgeting process.
We will not be using outside funding sources or sponsors. All money will be used from Magnolia Glen's program fund. They have money set aside in their budget for programs and events like this one. This event will be free for all residents and their families.

For our event, we would utilize almost all of the Magnolia Glen facility. Each event will occur at different points in Magnolia Glen.
The Easter Egg Hunt will take place outside of Magnolia Glen. We will use all of the outdoor area including the area behind Magnolia Glen.
The Bunnies will be located right outside of the facility on the back lawn.
The games, photo wall, and face painting will all be in the main lobby as well as snacks and refreshments for the participants.
Our event will be staffed by the members of the Magnolia Glen SL group, PRT 152 volunteers and the staff of the Magnolia Glen facility. We gave each group member and volunteer a specific facilitative role and explained our expectations for each activity station.
Volunteer responsibilities include
Monitoring food table
Taking pictures for families at the photo booth
Monitoring game station
Facilitating and interacting with participants during the egg hunt
All volunteers will arrive 1 hour before the event start time. During this time, us group members will give each volunteer a specific duty and explain our expectations.
Food Allergies - we will provide a secondary option for participants with dietary restrictions.
We picked and designed activities that are age appropriate for both senior residents and their grandchildren who may attend.
Having at least 1 staff at each activity station
Replenishing food as needed
Minor Cuts, Scrapes, and Bruises - These occur when people fall or trip on to hard surfaces. To prevent this, we will require that all participants walk during the duration of the Easter Egg hunt. Before the program starts, we will do a full walk through and check the property for any potential hazards (wasps nest, branches, uneven pavement etc.).
The whole program is supposed to take place outdoors, so if inclement weather arises, the event will be moved inside.
Participant Evaluation:
We can gauge participant enjoyment in a variety of ways;
We could simply observe and see if our participants are having fun by looking for smiles, listening for laughter, and paying attention to participants.
We could have a short survey to hand out to some participants to see what they enjoyed about our program on a simple scale of 1-5.
Program Evaluation:
We can meet as a team after to discuss our previously set program objectives such as...
The amount of leftover snack material we have
How quickly the easter eggs were collected
How many participants we interacted with
The amount of participants that engaged in the games and face painting
How popular the bunnies were
Due to the impact of the Coronavirus on our nation and state, we were unable to physically hold the Egg Hunt for the residents at Magnolia Glen and their families. We felt as a group that we had some great ideas for our program, especially since this event occurs annually at Magnolia Glen. We learned that in order to run a large event such as this, there are many jobs that must come first in the planning process. It is important to sit down and clearly communicate our ideas and visions for each program so we are all on the same page, whether we are discussing materials, budget, staff or activities. We learned that we need a clear budget in order to obtain everything that we need for the event. We need clear dates and times for the program so that the group can begin advertising as soon as possible. Then of course with the situation that we are all in, we had to learn to adapt to new changes that we may be faced with. We will take what we learned and apply it to our program two. Our goal is to make it as well rounded and fun as possible!
