Please select and complete one of the following options to show your mastery of this domain. Your response should be in the form of 2-3 well-thought-out paragraphs, or through a different mode of communication that you deem appropriate for the task. For either of the two choices, also include a sentence or two in the text box about your reasons for selecting the mode of communication that you did.
Option #1: Your high school has invited you to return to engage with students as they grapple with issues connected to the creation of information. Specifically, they have asked you to plan a daylong set of activities for seniors that will help them to recognize and find their own voices. The teacher organizing this event feels that these college-bound students need an awareness of their own roles and responsibilities as they create information, either individually or collaboratively, and then share it with others and receive feedback. Think back to the quests and challenges in this module, and select key components that you feel these graduating seniors need to grapple with. Describe what you have planned for the day and include the following: What is your goal for the day? Specifics of any communication, technology, or collaborative components you will use. An explanation of why you developed the activities in the form that you did.
Option #2: You have decided that you would like to bring the discussion you started at Speaker’s Corner to a wider group. Determine how you might do that, so that others can learn from and participate in the conversation. Consider the elements you examined in the Author’s Voice, Collaborative Creation, and Individual Creation challenges. Write about how you would accomplish this, including, but not limited to, these points: What elements from the quests making up these challenges would you want to incorporate? What platform or type of platform would you use? What functionality would you like it to have? How would you encourage participation? Are there any potential problems that you foresee?
