The easiest way to adjust the wheel circumference, which fixes the speedometer readings, is to configure the setting using the display unit. See the "Configuring" section below.
This uses one-LIN or CAN bus to communicate to the controller and is powered by 72v.
There is a bar that goes up the left side and across the top of the unit. This is used to show how much energy is being sent to the motor. It is not measuring RPM. In drive it goes up to about 7, and in sport it goes to 11, but there's no indication of units or what each bar means.
There's also a series of red LEDs that light up while riding. There's no information on what those lights represent.
There's a "New 061 TFT DKD" speedometer, as seen on Reddit. It is not a plug-and-play swap, but it could be usable. Pins will have to be remapped and the 72 V input would need to be swapped with 12 V instead. Also, the unit will show gear 4 or 3 instead of D or S.
Another user is getting the CJ-V5-03 unit working.
This video shows the N1S working with EM100, which is also using one-LIN output.
On the back side of the unit are two buttons, one on the left and one on the right. You can use them to enter programming codes. This video shows you where the buttons are, how to enter codes, and how to configure the wheel circumference to make the speedometer more accurate.
Demonstration of how to program the speedometer.
Enter programming mode by holding the left button. Enter the code by tapping the left button to increment the blinking number and the right button to move one digit right. Long press the right button to exit. When you enter programming mode, the screen shows "CC". At this point, enter one of these codes to configure the associated setting.
153: Set circumference (mm), pole pairs, offset.
256: Select 2 speed gear (-2) or normal 3 speed gear (-0).
372: Reset odometer. This is limited to three times.
856: Select 60v/72v/96v/48v to automatically configure the battery bar on the display.
879: Set the fixed voltage calibration to 60v/72v/96v/48v.
824: "Self input voltage calibration" (perhaps it enables the auto-detection of the voltage range for the battery bar).
974: Switch between KPH and MPH on display.
928: Turn on / off the D/N/R indicator light.
If you want your Metacycle to still operate, only change the circumference to 1675 and leave the pole pairs and offset alone.
Codes were found in this DKD Programming document.
