The Votol Bluetooth adapter can be readily found online. It connects the CAN bus of the Metacycle to Bluetooth, which then be used for programming the controller.
This documents how the Bluetooth adapter could be wired in order to allow communication on the CAN bus.
The bluetooth adapter uses the following pinout. This diagram is shown as though looking at the plug end on the bluetooth device, not the wiring harness where it plugs in.
The colors listed are from the wiring harness side. On the Bluetooth adapter, orange appears yellow and +5 V is red.
To attach this directly to your USB port, connect the following wires.
USB black (ground) → Bluetooth black
USB red (+5 V) → Bluetooth red
USB green (Data +, or CAN +) → Bluetooth blue
USB white (Data -, or CAN -) → Bluetooth yellow/orange
The images presented here are with a USB cable soldered directly to the board within the Bluetooth adapter. The original cable is shown with the correct orientation as a reference to show original wire colors.
