jasmine

babygirl!!!!

jasmine works in a nomadic metalworking/blacksmithing shop run by her family. she travels a lot and her shop is well known for making high quality products. she and her family have made items for the likes of presidents, royalty, and kaz's family. keia hears about her and commissions her to make them some daggers. the two become friends even though keia tells themself its only to gather info about the flores family.

she is somewhat of a link between keia, kaz, and nathan, because they all know about her and have been interested in her products at some point in time. when the four of them become friends, her shop is often a gathering point for them.

many years ago, j’s parents were attacked and captured while they were passing through the mountains near keia's hometown to deliver some products to a neighbouring village. the two of them were briefly taken back to keia's terrorist organization's base as captives, with the goal to design weapons. chidro suffered frostbite injuries to his hands during the travels and was unable to give the group what they wanted because of it. they only kept him alive as an incentive for bee to help them. she designed weapons for them for several weeks, with the promise that once she supplied them with the plans she would be able to see her husband again. (the weapons she designs go on to be used for the flores family assassination) once she was no longer of use, bee and her husband were freed, but the two of them were treated incredibly badly and bee is now severely traumatized and can't really do anything anymore except lie in bed. chidro lost a few of his fingers to the frostbite, and so jasmine and her sister shoulder the vast majority of the actual smithing responsibilities.

j never knew exactly what had happened because her sister nikkia kept it a secret from her in order to protect her young mind. it kind of just sounded like their parents got into some sort of accident (maybe an encounter with "bandits") which badly impacted bee. j goes on thinking this for years until keia comes into the shop one day to see her and bee recognizes them and starts like. idk screaming. and then it all makes sense
