families

• Huge family, known as the Flores family

  • they are a very political family -- lots of relatives hold spots in the government and other related positions. many family members, if not politicians, are doctors, lawyers, CEOs of companies, etc.

  • the family also has an incredibly successful business. they work with metal and fire, since it is their specialty, and are a large part of their city and surrounding area's exports, as well as exporting their goods to the rest of the region and neighbouring regions

  • because of their successful business, the family has a large influence on the politics of their city/region. they use large amounts of their money to support political parties that benefit their interests, and use their money to support services, businesses, and other organizations that benefit the family as well. although some family members hold actual government positions, the business has arguably a bigger influence, especially on the media/public eye

  • there is always a "head" of the family, who makes sure things are running smoothly with the business, and speaks/acts on behalf of the family at conferences, political gatherings, and media events. usually the head of the family is the oldest child who has inherited the family's "fire trait", and this person often has experience if not a job in the political field

    • • if for some reason the eldest child with the fire trait is unfit/unwilling to be head of the family, the position goes to the next child with the trait and so on. if none of the children with the trait are fit/willing to be the head, the position goes to the children of the current head's sibling(s). for example, if none of ellison's children became head, the position would go to ellison's sister naomi's children (not his brother corey since naomi has the trait and he doesn't). since the trait is passed down to any flores child and not just those who are children of the current head, aunts, uncles, and cousins alike can also possess it. however, they are usually weaker/less experienced with it, as mastering their ability isn't as big of a deal to them because they are not destined to be head of the family.

THIS IS ALL ALLEGED... NO ONE CAN CONFIRM IF TRUE OR NOT (a.k.a i dont know if i want to make this canon or not yet)

• Kaz's dad, when he was younger, had another lover before meeting kaz’s mom

  • Very young, maybe 18?

  • Anyways they had a kid

  • Turns out that kid is keia lol

  • Ellison shoved keia into a stream because he was like oh no a child and that child is weird and doesn’t look like me and my gf is dying because of birthgiving and im not ready to be a dad and all that

  • Keia doesnt know their parents, only person who knows keia exists is ellison

  • Even then, he doesnt know if they’re alive or not

  • Imagine the shock he would get if keia walked into his house at like 22 years old, alive and healthy lol
