4.5 Professional Learning Facilitator
Coaches plan, provide and evaluate the impact of professional learning for educators and leaders to use technology to advance teaching and learning. Coaches:
4.5.a
Design professional learning based on needs assessments and frameworks for working with adults to support their cultural, social-emotional and learning needs.
4.5.b
Build the capacity of educators, leaders and instructional teams to put the ISTE Standards into practice by facilitating active learning and providing meaningful feedback.
4.5.c
Evaluate the impact of professional learning and continually make improvements in order to meet the schoolwide vision for using technology for high-impact teaching and learning.
Professional learning facilitators strive to create instruction that not only follows along with ISTE standards but also assesses the effectiveness of these designs. It is important as a learning facilitator to accommodate to the social-emotional needs as well as cultural needs. It is also essential to commit to improvement. By evaluating and assessing the impact that professional learnign has, facillitators can adjust methods to fit the needs and goals for technology instruction for the district in which you work.
Above is a brochure I created to demonstrate the qualities that educational games bring to the classroom. Not only does this infographic offer different ideas and tools for students to use in the classroom but there are also different media and online software that could benefit teachers when creating lessons. Creating an infographic like this demonstrates my growth as a professional learning facilitator because it demonstrates my efforts to evaluate technology tools, and their potential impacts and then display it in a way to grow other educators.
