To the left is my thesis project proposal presentation. This study will be conducted in throughout the Spring 2024 semester as a part of my capstone course. This study's title is "Teacher's Perspectives on the Adoption of Google Classroom Post-Pandemic". The goal of the study is to gain an understanding of what impacts teacher's adoption of Google Classroom and if the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the adoption of this LMS by teachers.
Professional Development
To complete the Apple teacher certification I chose to become Mac-certified (rather than iPad). In this certification process, I learned about six different Mac applications and tools. Each tool had its own module and quiz. Once I passed each quiz I earned a badge and once I earned all of the Mac Badges I earned my Apple certification. This is a great professional development opportunity as I use Mac tools on an everyday basis and can help students in my classroom that use these same tools.
The Nearpod certification was a little more extensive as it included attending a webinar, project, and lesson creation as well as learning about the technology tool. After the learning portion was over, I attended a webinar and then was prompted to create a lesson with the different activity tools Neaprod offers. In order to complete the certification the Nearpod I created needed to be engaged with and it needed to "pass" the certification requirements. I have used Nearpod in the past in my classes and now that I am a Nearpod educator and have completed this training, I understand the tool much more and what features it offers. I often found it time-consuming to use Nearpod but I now understand how to use templates and pre-existing Nearpod resources to make my presentations engaging and exciting without spending hours making them!
