The documentation for the McLellan Cup website at http://mclellancup.ca was researched and compiled by its Trustees (in 2019): Ed Getson, Rae Winkelaar, and Charles Stock. Designing of the web pages was done by Fred Crouse from the Wolfville Curling Club. It is a record of the running of this event since its beginning in 1907. Included on the site is the historical background of the trophy, a record of matches played, the current year's schedule with up-to-date results, and documents which detail the Rules, Roles and Responsibilities for the management of the event.
Within the documentation, up until the 114th season, you will see the McLellan Cup declared as "The Oldest Continually Curled for Challenge Trophy in Curling Anywhere". With the exposure of the website, we were made aware that the Quebec Challenge Cup began in 1874. Our competition started in 1907. We are still older than the men's curling Brier Cup (1927), the NHL's Stanley Cup (1926), and the CFL's Grey Cup (1909). However, we now state our claim to fame as "A Challenge Trophy Played for in Canada's Maritime Provinces by Men's Club Curling since 1907"
