Adaptive Essays, a writing program designed to personalize the essay writing process for students. The program utilizes pre-tests to assess student understanding of key essay components (hook, bridge, thesis, etc.). Students who demonstrate mastery on a pre-test can move on to crafting a more creative and open-ended version of that element.
For students who require additional support, the program provides targeted interventions. Upon failing a pre-test, students are directed to a video lesson that reinforces the specific concept. To ensure comprehension, a short quiz follows the lesson. Only after successfully completing the quiz can students return to writing the essay block, this time using a scaffolded approach with sentence stems and additional guidance.
