I think your students would be more engaged if they were watching you write on the worksheet they are about to use with a document camera. It might inform a number of things: how to use a pencil, what the worksheet looks like, what an assignment done correctly looks like.
You can record just as you did, but in the video you said “it is hard to write with this mouse”. I want to help you with that. In this video from my colleague. She teaches High School, Sheltered ESOL Math: https://stlps-my.sharepoint.com/personal/amaher0052_slps_org/_layouts/15/stream.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2Famaher0052%5Fslps%5Forg%2FDocuments%2F150%20Algebra%20MC%2FUnit%207%20Quadratics%2FUnit%207%20Videos%2F7%2E7%20Quadratic%20Word%20Problems%2Emkv&ga=1&referrer=StreamWebApp%2EWeb&referrerScenario=AddressBarCopied%2Eview
In the video, she is using OBS (Open Broadcast Software) (free and open source) to record several inputs: her webcam, her document cam, and her computer screen. I can teach you to do the same thing if you need to. You should be able to use the premium software subscriptions provided by MCP.
Actual Suggestion: I think your students would be more engaged if they were watching you write on the worksheet they are about to use with a document camera. It might inform a number of things: how to use a pencil, what the worksheet looks like, what an assignment done correctly looks like.
So, the next question is, how do I get a document camera? If you have a tech person at your school, I would ask them. Second, I would consider this very cheap, DIY option:
Above, you are looking at a small boom microphone stand with a cheap webcam mounted on it. There are many places you could order something like this from.
This was a kind of rambling response. Please ask questions if you have them.
