I attended the 2017 NCTE (National Conference of Teachers of English) and went to a panel called "Doing More Isn't Better". I remember David Stewart Jr. telling me two of the most important ideas for shifting from surviving as a teacher to thriving as a teacher:
Aggressively experiment with neglecting tasks that don't lead to long term student thriving.
Satisficing: a portmanteau of satisfy and suffice, means to complete some tasks at a level that will satisfy wording and suffice for the purpose if it does not lead to long-term student thriving.
The slide deck of the presentation is worth a read.
I have an automation page on this site that you can read to learn to do things faster: Automation
Angela Watson has a wonderful collection of books and a course to help teachers avoid burnout.
If you have joined a teacher's union, you have access to tools to avoid burnout. Talk to your shop steward about those tools.
