Collaborative learning, Structured Peer Feedback
Apply the identity to optimize arm designs.
Checklist:
I sketched three well-spaced points for my robot arm—two valid and one clearly invalid.
I labeled each point with (x, y) coordinates on my sketch.
I checked each point using x²+y² and marked them as VALID or INVALID.
As a peer coach, I verified my partner’s calculations and gave thoughtful feedback on their point placement, arm reach, and realistic design issues.
I made sure my points demonstrated real arm movement (not all close together).
I discussed or wrote about possible error sources and described how an engineer would realistically respond—by fixing the error, improving the process, or noting if it’s not a big deal.
I can explain what the Pythagorean Identity checks and why it is important for robot arm design.
