Standard 8 - Collaborative Relationships – The competent teacher builds and maintains collaborative relationships to foster cognitive, linguistic, physical, and social and emotional development. This teacher works as a team member with professional colleagues, students, parents or guardians, and community members.
Artifact Description: While student teaching, the school had a Christmas "Deck the Halls" event where students and staff participated and organized everything for this special day that occurs every year. Students, parents, friends, and others are welcome to collaborate and make positive relationships.
Connection to the IPTS standard: This artifact was a perfect demonstration for Standard 8. works with all school personnel (e.g., support staff, teachers, paraprofessionals) to develop learning climates for the school that encourage unity, support a sense of shared purpose, show trust in one another, and value individuals; 8J). Building positive relationships with other staff and professionals are essential and create better job environments.

Description iption of what I learned: Attending this unique event helped me get to know more about my student's families and make better connections with other professionals in the school. In addition, it is fantastic being in a friendly environment where you can share and have positive conversations.
Artifact Description: Developing professional relationships with students gives them a different perspective on school. This artifact makes a perfect connection to standard eight. I was able to attend my student's basketball games which made me build a strong relationship with them.
Connection to the IPTS standard: This artifact was a perfect demonstration for Standard 8 understands the various models of co-teaching and the procedures for implementing them across the curriculum; 8G) During this game, I collaborated and co-teach with a teacher to measure the motor skills of some students. Collaboration between professionals plays a huge part in teaching.
Description iption of what I learned: I first learned that collaboration with teachers and other staff is crucial. Students benefit when teachers, social workers, etc., work together. Therefore, collaboration and developing an excellent positive environment are a need in teaching.
