Edge Guarding

This is probably the toughest part of the MU in my opinion. The onstage game is relatively even, maybe even a bit Marth favored, but Sheik’s edgeguards on you are undoubtedly easier. She has access to stuff like dropzone nair to trade with your Up-B, needles, invincible nair, bair and fair from ledge, and even if you manage to get past her and land onstage, she still has dthrow into whatever she wants (assuming there’s no platform).

The edgeguarding game against Sheik should mostly consist of you not letting her back at all, not even giving her the chance to mix you up. With Laudandus recovery (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOHC90bE2lw), needles, and an invincible Up-B plus being able to Amsah Tech your fsmash and Up-B (arguably your best KO moves), it’s really in your best interest to try and intercept her Up-B before she can even turn intangible during it. Letting Sheik play this mixup game too often will result in missed opportunities. Do not assume you can just regular getup and punish her over and over, because better Sheiks will eventually mix you up or just Amsah Tech the fsmash/Up-B.

Don’t be afraid to roll on sometimes if you notice them going for ledge a lot. You have to force her to guess what option you’ll choose off the ledge.

When Sheik manages to get on the ledge, all you can do is respect the ledgedash and let her back on. Ledgedash ftilt/grab/dsmash/aerial is just way too powerful. Don’t put yourself in a position to get hit by any of these. The reversal potential is massive from her in a lot of places and it’s important to, as mentioned earlier, focus on not getting grabbed and just keep your spacing.

If she lands onstage at a high enough percent, say 130-140+, then just go for an up tilt. It removes the possibility of the Amsah Tech being a problem and it’ll KO on most stages with the exception of Dreamland.
