Common Ground Rules for Test Taking
Date: November 30th 2023
What did I do: I gave the students instructions to turn in their phones into the basket and make sure that their air pods are away. I also gave instructions for them not to talk while taking the test and if they needed anything, they would raise their hand.
What did I learned: Students focus more when they don't have any distractions. Students would do their tests without doing any other things.
Guides to teach English in Hmong.

What did I do: A recording along with visual guides to teach English to Hmong audiences and also teach Hmong to English audiences.
What I learned: Visual aids are very important along with verbal aids to learn another language. Using the Hmong language for Hmong people to refer to examples helps the students learn and memorize English better.

What did I do : Create a circle and write the things that I present. I also put the pictures to show the students.
What did I learned: I also a Hmong girl who doesn’t know about Hmong culture. Since I was born until nowadays, I have been Christian I don’t know anything about the Hmong religion. However, I do love Hmong clothes, Hmong foods, Hmong languages, and others. When I got here to the U.S., I thought Hmong culture was nothing important, and it was just a small thing NO one wanted to know. I knew a lot of different cultures and some people asked me to share about my own culture as this class. I feel sad because I don’t know a lot about my culture even though it is my own culture. Now, I know that Hmong culture is worth culture for my own culture even though it is just a small culture as the Hmong language which some kids who are born in the U.S. don’t know. Also have anything that the Hmong need to keep and share or show about Hmong culture to other people to get to know food, clothes, Hmong folk Art, and others. I think we should not keep Hmong culture for sharing to culture but must keep or tell Hmong children in the future. I see that a lot of Hmong children do not even know anything about their own even their languages.

What did I do: All the students lend a hand to make the world a more beautiful place. Put students' hands on the papers and draw around them. Then cut around it and stick to the board. Add papers hand-cut, and decorated, Add them around the Earth’s outline. Include inspired messaging at the top of the board using cute letters or paint. Then ask each student to see what they ask seeing differences between each hand on the board.
What did I learned: Creating greater multicultural awareness and inclusion helps students with different backgrounds and needs succeed, but it also encourages acceptance and helps prepare students to thrive in an exponentially diverse world. Cultural celebrations foster respect and open-mindedness for other cultures. Celebrating our differences, as well as our common interests, helps unite and educate us. We gain insights into our thought processes, life experiences, and values as we learn from people whose backgrounds and experiences are different from our own.
