Teaching is a valuable profession. As a pre-service teacher, I have seen how important it is for teachers and students to communicate well. Some students share their personal struggles, looking for guidance, while others form close friendships with their classmates outside of school. These experiences show why it is important to build strong connections with students. Good communication helps create a positive and supportive learning environment. Teaching is not as easy as some people think. I have learned that it comes with many challenges, like making lesson plans and using teaching methods that fit learning goals.
Getting used to my teaching environment was easy because of the welcoming school community and the support of my cooperating teacher. Their encouragement made me more confident in handling my responsibilities as an intern. During my teaching journey, I have learned to respect professional boundaries, appreciate the wisdom of experienced teachers, and stay focused on my tasks. I hope to apply all the lessons I have learned from my mentors and make a difference in my future students' lives by helping them grow into responsible individuals.
At first, teaching in front of a class made me very nervous. As an anti-social person, I found it difficult to deal with loud noises and the crowded classroom environment. The students’ energy and constant chatter overwhelmed me, making it hard to focus. However, I reminded myself that adapting to different situations is part of being a teacher. Over time, I learned how to manage my anxiety by preparing well, setting classroom rules, and gradually getting used to the lively atmosphere. Though it is still challenging, I am slowly becoming more comfortable and learning to embrace the noise and energy as part of the learning process.
Becoming a teacher is not simple, and there are many obstacles to overcome. However, these challenges only make me more determined and patient. What inspires me to become a teacher? My love for sharing knowledge and helping students learn. I want to teach not just school subjects but also life lessons that will help students deal with problems. Teaching makes me happy, and I enjoy working with children. I believe that even by inspiring just one student, I can make a positive impact on their life. Aside from teaching, I also want to be a good role model and a source of encouragement for my students.
Looking back on my journey from my first to my final actual teaching experience, I see how much I have grown. Despite my anti-social tendencies making the process difficult, I discovered that teaching is an evolving journey one that requires patience, adaptability, and continuous learning. Each lesson provided valuable insights, not only improving my teaching skills and communication but also shaping my understanding of what it truly means to be an educator. Though I still have much to learn, I am now more confident in overcoming challenges to become the teacher I aspire to be.
Reflecting on my own school experience, I remember my elementary teacher who inspired me not just through schoolwork but by sharing life lessons that shaped us into better individuals. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp the impact of her dedication, but now, standing in a similar position, I realize how much she influenced my desire to teach.
Teaching is more than just imparting knowledge; it is about making a difference in students’ lives. Because of her, I wanted to become a teacher. Now, on this path, I hope to follow her example and pass on the good values she instilled in me to the next generation.
Each day in the classroom reaffirms my belief that teaching is both a privilege and a responsibility. It challenges me to grow, to be patient, and to inspire my students just as my teacher once inspired me. While the journey is not always easy, I now understand that every struggle and success contributes to the educator I am becoming.
