The Lumnia building's design is inspired by the "Chill Out Garden," and its name reflects the garden's color and brightness, aiming to translate this into "light to think more clearly and to organise ideas". This suggests an environment intended to foster mental clarity and focus. The campus offers engaging public spaces like gardens and squares, which can contribute to mental well-being by providing areas for relaxation and social interaction. 

The philosophy behind the EXEO Office Campus is "WORKPLACES MADE FOR LIVING," embodying a commitment to creating an environment that supports well-being and flexibility. The availability of multi-purpose rooftops bathed in natural light provides spaces for outdoor workstations and informal meetings, offering a change of environment that can improve mood and cognitive function. 

The Chill Out Garden itself is described as a "sunken garden for wandering and relaxing, with plenty of shade and trails among the greenery," offering a dedicated space for de-stressing and mental well-being. The flexibility of workspaces within Lumnia allows for co-working and collaboration, fostering a sense of community and social connection, which are important for mental well-being.

M02 Nature and Place

Connection to Nature:

The Lumnia building is inspired by and overlooks the "Chill Out Garden," a sunken garden with greenery and trails designed for relaxation. The architectural design of Lumnia, along with the other buildings in the EXEO Office Campus, aims to "dissolve the barriers between indoors and outdoors in fluid, dynamic spaces".  

The design seeks "a dialogue with the surrounding landscapes through broad glass facades transparencies," emphasizing natural light and views of the outdoors, which have mental health benefits. The campus is intersected by green spaces that serve as a natural extension for workspaces and provide a refuge within the city. Rooftops and outdoor gardens are designed to be used as outdoor workstations, providing a direct connection to the outdoors.  

The central courtyard is designed for meetings and socialization, offering another outdoor space. The third-floor roof terrace provides pergolas, climbers, and wooden benches, further enhancing the connection to nature.

M06 Restorative Opportunities

Support Healthy Working Hours (LUMNIA's Strategies for Restorative Opportunities)

The Lumnia Office Campus fosters restorative opportunities for occupants through design and operational strategies that implicitly align with WELL Concept M06, which advocates for environments that support mental and physical recovery and its design ethos encourages work-life balance and downtime. Features such as flexible workspaces, sunlit breakout areas, and rooftop gardens with seating zones provide natural settings for employees to disconnect and recharge during breaks. The integration of biophilic elements—like greenery and natural light—reduces cognitive fatigue, while quiet zones and communal lounges offer spaces for mindfulness or informal collaboration. To fully align with M06’s emphasis on structured restorative practices, the campus could adopt formal policies, such as encouraging staggered work hours, promoting “no-meeting” blocks, or designating tech-free zones to safeguard uninterrupted rest periods.
