Instructional Methodology for Distance-Learning (asynchronous) Course
This course is the design of an immersive online experience for you. You will cover the same material as in a regular/traditional class. This course requires self-discipline, the ability to use Chaffey College email, the ability to navigate the e-learning platform Canvas, online videos, e-worksheets, and knowledge of personal computers and the Internet. This course uses internet-based instruction to create a convenient alternative to traditional college course formats. This course does not require real-time classes (asynchronous online learning} however students must watch all the lecture videos online, read slides/lecture notes, watch required videos and complete all assignments before the assigned due dates. In general, students are responsible for their own work.
This is not a self-paced course--it's important that you keep on top of the weekly reading and assignments! Each of you must manage your own time each week to know when assignments, and any other weekly course. Be in the know what to expect for this class. Stay ON TOP of your work. Practice. Practice. Practice.
Withdrawal Deadline:
You should familiarize yourselves with Chaffey College’s withdrawal policy but you are free to ask me questions about it. Please review the important dates for 14 weeks. The information on the deadline to withdraw from this class without a W and withdraw from this class with a W.
During the first 2 weeks, the Assignment's completion is crucial. If you do not submit any assignment during the first week 1 of school, I may assume you are dropping the course. I may drop you and add one of the many students trying to add to our class. Please don’t hesitate to talk with me if you are contemplating dropping out. I want all of you to succeed.
