Vehicles should be impounded for the following reasons:
Illegally Parked
When Arresting a Suspect
Stolen and Recovered
When the Suspect has an Arrest Warrant and the vehicle is spotted and abandoned
Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License
Whenever the officer deems it necessary for the completion of their duties
Impound time Policy:
Illegally Parked - Instant Release or 1 hour MAX
When Arresting a suspect -
Misdemeanor charges - 4 to 6 hours.
Felony charges - 12 to 18 hours.
5 + Felony Charges - 24 to 48 hours (Officer Discretion)
Stolen and Recovered - Instant Release
Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License - 10 to 12 hours.
Arrest Warrant - (Must require an Officer to pull out the vehicle)
Officers should use discretion on impounding vehicles, and if you have any questions or are unsure, ask your Patrol Supervisor. (SGT or above)
Drivers License Point system
Note: EACH charge causes its respective point, meaning if you commit third degree speeding and negligent driving, it is 2 total points added to your license

Licenses will be automatically revoked through the DMV once the Suspect has Received 20 Points on their record, and must obtain a driving school certificate and wait a required 5 days before contacting the Police Department.
To Reinstate a license, View the Driving School Certificate, and then grant them their license back.
Weapons License Revokal
Weapons Licenses should be revoked once the suspect commits ANY violent Felony.
List of violent Felonies:
Attempted Murder
Attempted Murder on an Officer
Armed Robbery
Gang Related Shooting
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Murder Charges (1st, 2nd or Manslaughter)
Kidnapping
If the suspect uses a firearm in the process
Kidnapping a Government Employee
If the suspect uses a firearm in the process
Terrorism
Drive by Shooting
To Revoke a Weapon License go to their MDT Profile, and click the license, specifying the reason.
Suspects can Have their License Reinstated Minimum a week after the Revocation.

806 Hit and Run
2 Strikes
813-b Felony Evading a Police Officer
3 Strikes
813-b + Violent Felonies (Attempted murder etc)
*** Command can give out any level of punishment at their discretion***
***Strikes fall off after 15 days of no repeated behavior***
This Guideline Must be followed to help halt the use of fast, modified cars and cause recourse for the actions of criminals.
Note:
Once a Vehicle hits 10 Strikes the Vehicle will be Permanently impounded, and eventually destroyed by the Los Santos Police Department with a possibility of appeal through Command.
