READ THE SOPS!!!
Your first step should be to look over every SOP section and make sure you are up to date with all policies. This will help you with a lot of your basic policys on Patroling, Responding to calls, using force, etc.
You will be required to go over the following with your initial Hiring officer / first FTO for initial training:
Workings of the MDT
Home Page and all about it

Have your FTO Inform on current Use of Force (UOF) policy's and guidelines
Have your FTO give you a tour of MRPD
Have your FTO Explain basic Traffic stop, Pursuit and other procedures.
Ask any and ALL questions to your FTO that you may have at this point.
You must complete a minimum of 5 hours of Ride alongs with an FTO
You can ride along with any Officer or higher, but only FTOs are authorized to update your Cadet training checklist. They will take into consideration the time you spend with other officers (We understand that some schedules do not line up and will work around that)
Always listen to you training officer!
A lot of the time, "street smarts" will overcome "book smarts". Your FTOs goal is to help guide you on your path, and assist you with all of your training needs.
You will go through a checklist that your FTO has available to them, (ask them to share your progress as time goes on)
At this point you are all on your own, and your Training officer is not there to get you out of any hole you dig yourself in. If your FTO did their job correctly, this shouldn't frighten you. Make sure you are well versed on ALL Department SOPs to avoid an incident that may get you fired, as this is the position that we fire the most officers for violating such SOPs.
You are required to do at minimum 5 active patrol hours before you can ask an FTS for your final evaluation. If you pass this evaluation, congratulations you will now become a full fledged Los Santos Police Officer.
