The San Andreas Park Rangers’ mission firstly is to protect the citizens of San Andreas while upholding the utmost respect and discipline that is required to be a Ranger, to serve the people. Secondly, Rangers are tasked with preserving the many forests and extraordinary wildlife in the state of San Andreas, and make sure these entities can co-exist with citizens of San Andreas in a peaceful and coherent manner.
All San Andreas State Park Rangers will and must follow their own SOP’s and the SOP’s of the Los Santos Police Department.
Rangers must dress in a professional manner while performing their duties.
DO NOT use specialized equipment outside of permitted situations.
Be respectful to fellow Rangers and other law enforcement personnel.
As a Ranger you will always follow the Chain of Command.
Always communicate your location when performing your duties.
As a Ranger and law enforcement officer your primary goal is always to preserve the life of yourself, fellow officers, the citizens and that of animals.
Rangers are held to extremely high standards and must follow the code of conduct.
During any situation, Rangers must uphold professionalism and treat others with respect.
Promotions to Ranger, and as a Ranger, have to be earned and will be given out by High Command. Asking for promotions will slow the promotion process or possible demotion.
When exercising your duties as a Ranger, you should keep the SOP’s in mind before acting.
San Andreas State Park Rangers are law enforcement officers of the state, which gives them jurisdiction over the entire state of San Andreas. However the main focus of the Rangers lies in the protection of the wildlife in the designated hunting areas and forests and surroundings. Park Rangers are not bound to these areas, as they are still tasked with enforcing all the laws within San Andreas.
Reasons for Rangers to go down to the city:
Priority Calls: If there are any priority calls active, like armed robberies, officer down calls, active shootouts etc.
Lack of officers in the city: If there are less than 4 officers in the city, excluding other Rangers, and there is no reason to actively patrol the Ranger jurisdiction.
Lack of activity: If there is an absence of activity/calls inside the jurisdiction.
Rangers need to have specialized knowledge over everything covering their jurisdiction, this means that basic P1, P2 and P3 training isn’t sufficient to become a full Ranger. You will either have to complete a shift of minimum three hours or a training hosted by a Park Ranger, to get out of the Ranger training phase.
Next to this Rangers will always need to be up to date about the latest laws regarding hunting and wildlife, and learn about the latest developments regarding animals and their habitats.
Always make sure you are carrying enough food and water for yourself and other citizens to give out.
Within the Rangers there is a chain of command, equal to the positions of the Los Santos Police Department. These command functions will work together to bring the best possible leadership structure to both departments and maintain oversight. Rangers will assume the same position as Senior Officer within the Los Santos Police Department.
Game Warden: Highest ranking position within the Rangers, and tasked with maintaining the department and keeping SOP’s up to date.
Equals to Deputy Chief
Sergeant Ranger: Second highest ranking position within the Rangers, and are responsible for maintaining the department and supervising daily patrol operations.
Equals to Sergeant
Senior Ranger: Third highest ranking position within the Rangers, tasked with training new Rangers up to the standards that are set in this SOP.
Equals to Corporal
Ranger: Lowest ranking position within the rangers, new in the department and are expected to follow orders from their superior to learn the ways of being a Ranger.
Equal to Senior Officer
Rangers are still able to apply for certifications, and these will be carried over if someone decides to transfer to the Rangers Department.
Park Rangers are specifically tasked with protecting the wildlife of San Andreas and securing their safety, these core values shape the Park Rangers into what it wants to become. It is important that you know the penal codes for hunting and poaching by heart, and continue to enforce these laws whenever eligible to do so.
There is a higher grade of respect that comes to treating animals as a Ranger, and you will be expected to handle animals and nature with extreme care. Failure to uphold these standards can result in punishment from High Command, and in extreme cases of wrongdoing can lead to termination from the Rangers or law enforcement all together.
Injured Animals: Whenever an injured animal is found your discretion as a Ranger will determine what is the best course of action for that animal. If you deem that it is too cruel to let the animal live in its current state, then you can decide to put the animal down with the most peaceful method available.
