Autumn Leaves is primarily a James McCown Project. Autumn Leaves consists of songs James McCown wrote on his own along with songs by occasional collaborators like Shelly Walts.  James McCown and his collaborators create memorable songs. James writes songs in various genres and often uses acoustic guitar. Rock is often included somewhere in the mix as in Folk-Rock and Country-Rock. James takes the lead vocal on songs he writes and his collaborators take the lead vocal on the songs that they write. Both separately and together, James and his collaborators transport you back to another time and place when music was good. Their lyrical concepts are fresh and modern but their music harkens back to a time when performers actually knew how to play their instruments.

James & his collaborators have both lived lives that are full and inspiring. They’ve been through the School of Hard Knocks and emerged hopeful and resilient. When Autumn Leaves, Winter comes…but its resilience yields the fruit that comes with Spring. These Autumn Leaves yield a rich bounty of unforgettable music.
