In accordance with the Louisiana Open Meetings Law (R.S. 42:11–28), all committees and subcommittees of the Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board are classified as public bodies and are therefore required to fully comply with the provisions of the law. This includes the requirement that all meetings be held in person, except in the limited circumstances outlined by statute. For reference, please see:
Effective immediately, all committee and subcommittee meetings must be conducted in person to ensure transparency, accountability, and public access as required by law.
To mitigate any scheduling or logistical challenges, we will now begin allocating time within and immediately following our scheduled CCAB meetings to allow committees and subcommittees to gather, coordinate, and conduct necessary business in person. This adjustment is intended to support compliance while minimizing additional travel or meeting demands.
Please work with your committee and/or subcommittee Chairs to schedule meetings accordingly and ensure public notice requirements are met.
Thank you for your continued dedication to Louisiana’s children and families. If you have any questions about this requirement or need support with scheduling, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
