Dear Swim School Partners,
On behalf of the Office of Governor Jeff Landry, the Louisiana Children’s Cabinet, the Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund (LCTF), the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), the Office of Public Health (OPH), and Partners for Family Health Louisiana, we would like to thank you for the important role you play in teaching life-saving swim skills to Louisiana children and families.
As part of Louisiana’s statewide Get a Swim Plan water safety campaign, our agencies have partnered together to increase awareness of drowning prevention and promote water safety education throughout our communities. Louisiana continues to face significant challenges related to child drownings, making swim instruction and water safety education more important than ever.
We invite you to join us in sharing water safety information with the families you serve. The campaign's Water Safety Toolkit includes a variety of free resources that can be utilized by swim schools, aquatic facilities, community organizations, and families, including:
• Water safety posters and educational materials
• Social media graphics and messaging
• Water Watcher resources
• Drowning prevention information and infographics
• Parent and caregiver education materials
• Information on life jacket safety, barriers, supervision, and emergency preparedness
• Shareable campaign resources to help spread water safety awareness throughout your community
The complete toolkit is available here:

We encourage you to display these materials in your facilities, share them on your social media platforms, include them in newsletters, and distribute them to the families participating in your programs.
Together, we can help ensure that every Louisiana child has the opportunity to learn essential water safety skills and enjoy our state's waterways safely.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to keeping Louisiana children safe.
