There is a high percentage of Hungarians in this region of the country.
Some intra-Hungarian intellectual speculation suggests that Hungarians are Martians. I would suggest that they are actually immigrant Pannanonian Sasquatches based off this hotspot map.
Heat Map
I decided to make a heatmap in order to show the strong correlations of Bigfoot sightings. Obviously, the Pacific Northwest is the darkest hotspot because the home range of Bigfoots is supposed to be in this part of the world according to Native American mythology.
There's been an upswing in interest in Sasquatches lately.
Harry Turtledove wrote three novellas with a state full of sasquatches called Jefferson. (They're funny!)
