PLO 1.1 Knowledge Production
During Spring 2022, I took LIS 620 Information Sources and Services with Professor Nora Bird. Professor Bird lectured to the class of how to create LibGuides for patrons to help keep them inform about certain topics that interest them and how they can find more informative information. I created a Black History Month LibGuide because children, teens, and young adult patrons are curious about history and stories involving famous Black historians. 2022 theme was Black Health and Wellness. While 2023 theme is Black Resistance. Using my LibGuide will help inform patrons about Black Culture and Arts.

PLO 1.2 Curation
During my LIS 640 Information Organization and Access class, I did a Finding Aid assignment based on my collection of holiday cards. I separated my collection of cards based on Birthdays, Christmas, Graduation, Easter, Valentine's Day, etc. I stated all of these cards were treasures of memories to me. These cards reflect back on my life journey.
PLO 1.3 Description
Fall 2023, I took LIS 640 Information and Organization Access and learned about Controlled Vocabularies. I did not know controlled vocabularies existed in a library system. I did different assignments to practice my controlled vocabulary skills. We were learning based on catalog databases.
PLO 1.4 Organization
In my LIS 600 course, our class examines the issues of diversity in libraries. I wrote a research paper of how we can better bring minorities from different cultures to the library. It is good to have Diversity Education Collections for children and adults. The Detroit Public Library came out with an African-American called "Beyond the Kitchen" The Culinary Legacy of African Americans".
In my LIS 620 course I wrote an Inequity and Library Service essay about the Boston Public Library. I stated what the Boston Public Library represents and how each of the branches in the districts serve their patrons. I informed my readers about the city of Boston and the Census of the population.
Professor Moorefield Lang lectured to my class about different technology tools of how students and future librarians can use their creativity skills to connect with their audience. I learned how to create infographics using Canva in which I made a five year plan, informed my class the best and worst cities and states to get library jobs, and created a life lesson plan based on what I learned throughout my twenties. For example I created goals for myself for the years 2023-2027 between the age range 30-34 Years Old.
In my LIS 640 Information and Organization Access class, I had to research information on how to help aid patrons who were on the Autism Spectrum. Based on the collections of resources Professor Capuzzo put together, I gave informative information based on librarians who can make a difference to patrons with disabilities. It is important for librarians to strive to their full potential and not second guess a patron's knowledge. Librarians have a role to serve the community.
