The kûmap-flol (dust horn) was a species of flol that lived in the regions of Akye, Dove, and Frauji. Adults stood at just over a meter tall and just under 100 kilograms. Kûmap-flol had the distinctive features of three-toed hooves, sharp long ears, and bloated nostrils. They only had one horn, which would grow larger and sharper as they aged and end in a triangular fashion.
Kûmap-flol originally lived in very large herds, but as Eavon infrastructure drove away predators, their numbers exploded and became invasive species in several regions. Kûmap-flol were one of the most commonly hunted game animals during the 5th and 6th Ages by the Eavons. As the Eavonian Confederation collapsed, the kûmap-flol population dwindled as the humans killed as many as they could to avoid starvation. Following the Solstice War, the kûmap-flol numbers rose but they adapted a more solitary lifestyle.
Zhāng also hunted for kûmap-flol, but they preferred insect and parthopod meat in their diet. Flol refers to any cloven-hoofed mammals such as cattle, yaks, bison, buffalo, antelopes, sheep and goats. These are commonly domesticated and farmed animals, very few wild species such as the kûmap-flol to be found in the later Confederation until after the Solstice War. Flol meat was more abundant than poultry in many parts of the Confederation, used for steaks, stew, roasts, fried food, and kebabs.
