The allocamelus was a very common mammal of the Kharam and Akye deserts. It had shaggy hair on its lower body and red cuticle plates on its upper body, both colored to blend into the tall desert grass when the animal slept. The animal appeared to have four ears, but the larger, lower pair ears were actually temperature regulators.
While wandering and grazing, the dissipators sweated rapidly, and when the animal needed to cool down, it slathered its face with the built-up moisture. The local Eavon population, known as the Arashi people, domesticated the allocamelus to be used as transport and a mobile water source.
The allocamelus could travel over 65 kilometers in a single day. As a result of their primary use for transportation of people and cargo, their solid plates began to change shape to better acclimate to their utility. This included more comfortable and convenient places to sit upon its back and hook-like curves on the sides and shoulders to better attach cargo.
