Artist Statement

The medium of pastel allows me to remember experiences on another level.  My images allow me to interpret and make sense of the world around me.  I like to push color, texture and the environment. 

While I may start a painting with one image in my mind, there is a rush when a pastel painting comes alive and begins to speak and breathe on its own.  

My art is a product of my travels as well as my learning as an artist and individual.
