In 1998, I traveled for the first time to Puebla, Mexico for six weeks with Wichita State University.  At that time, my foreign language advisor, Nancy Humbach had a group of teachers also in Puebla.  She allowed me to go on their field trips and when she saw me drawing, she asked if I would illustrate her next book.
