This section incorporates competencies 3 through 8 of Quebec's Reference Framework for Professional Competencies for Teachers.
Teaching includes many aspects and educators need to understand them in depth. More than simply planning, implementing lessons, and evaluating, educators have to take into account diversity and motivate students' love for learning. As teachers plan, they must ask themselves if this will reach and interest their students, how to approach their lesson differently should changes need to be made, and how to ensure that all the needs in the classroom are met. This can be a difficult task and requires teachers to not only know their students academically but to understand them personally as well. Fostering relationships with students plays a big role in being able to teach them in a way that benefits them. Learning is a journey all students should be able to enjoy and take part in and these competencies ensure that teachers are developing professionally to ensure that it happens.
This section includes six competencies that all focus around the behind the scenes of teaching and the process for teachers take part in.
