There are those people in your life, in unexpected ways and on unexpected days, who say or do something so profound, that you can’t forget.
Something so sweet, so real, so kind, and so …loving, it has no words that can compel the true meaning of the emotions that arise from the simple memory. Something that soothes you before you go to bed at night. Remembering the smile or wink that came with their act of love. So pure…it’s etched inside the walls of your mind. It brings tears to your eyes, and a smile from cheek to cheek. It stops you. It lingers and persists. You recall it, contemplate it, and share it. It was, after all, a moment of genuine care.
Yet often, they are unaware of the amount of thought that you spend thinking of that moment. Oftentimes, shocked when they come to hear of the deep affection you felt from them, when they were simply just “being” with no real intention at all.
They simply loved just to love.
How might we begin to express our gratitude for their courageous kindness in a world that takes? Because that moment will live in our hearts for far longer than it lived in the present. And we often wish we could express our returned endearment and devotion to those who have cared for us. Because it’s more than just a moment, a word, or an action: it’s a feeling. A acknowledgment of existence between two souls. It is the essence of seeing God’s love poured out through them to us. It’s real, and it’s ours.
How could we ever forget?
