AP Language - ASDSA

This course is taught by College Board instructor Phyllis Wright with ASD's Larissa Wright-Elson as instructor-of-record for UAA.

The course runs during ASDSA from 5/29/18 - 6/1/18 at Dimond High School.

Bio sketch: Phyllis Wright teaches AP Language and AP Literature at Alma d’arte Charter High School in Las Cruces, NM. A College Board National Leader, she has received the College Board Southwestern Region's Special Recognition Award, as well as having served on Southwest Region's Advisory Board, the AP Literature and Language Test Development Committee, and as a Reader and Table Leader for the AP Language Exam. Honored professionally as a New Mexico State Teacher of the Year, a Golden Apple Fellow, and an International Excellence in Teaching Award recipient, outside of school, she is an avid hiker and the Training Director for Mesilla Valley Search and Rescue Team.

Course Description: This session will address the breadth of the AP Language and Composition course and focus on developing critical skills, classroom activity, content, assessment, and organization to enhance students’ understanding of the rhetorical theory and practice that underlie the AP Language and Composition Exam.
