About Me
I am the English and Language Arts Curriculum Coordinator for the Anchorage School District. For the last 22 years I have been a secondary English teacher in Anchorage, Alaska. In 2004 and 2014, I earned my National Board Certification in Adolescent & Young Adult English/Language Arts certificate from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
My experience includes 18 years in the classroom teaching 7th through 12th grades, including: AP Language, AP Seminar, creative writing, Shakespeare, American Literature, World Literature, Digital and Intermediate Composition, and Teen Issues in Literature. In addition, I have written curriculum for the Anchorage School District, the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, and the Alaska Learning Network.
I hold a master's degree in educational technology and am a Google for Education Certified Trainer, Flipped Learning Trainer, Level 2 Google Certified Educator, Apple Teacher, the 2016 lead PBS Digital Innovator, and a 2018 PBS Digital Innovator All-Star.
