The brothers Rubén and Jaime come from Bolivia and are primarily Charango makers but they have added some Ukuleles to their catalogue including Taropatch and Lili'us, (or some six string variant but I haven seen the nut configuration). All the Ukuleles from them I have seen have been made in a similar fashion to a Charango and are Soprano scale but as they make different scale lengths of Charango it is likely they could make other Ukulele scales if requested.
Bob Gleason is from the big island of Hawaii and uses the branding Pegasus Guitars. He does make Guitars but he makes Ukuleles as well. On the Ukulele front, he makes Sopranos, Concerts and Tenors, plus Taropatches and Lili'us. He is a member of the Hawaiian guild of Luthiers and runs the occasional classes in instrument making
If Island Traditions were being followed this should be Gleason & Son not two separate brands however- Also from Keaʻau, Hawaii, (and Bob's son) he uses Island Traditions only as his ukulele branding.
Though he learned a lot from his father he also studied Guitar building in Canada before starting up his own brand in 2001. He too makes Guitars as well as Ukuleles and his Ukulele range does extend to Baritones.
From Kea'au, Richardor, (more usually), Rich Godfrey started out as a woodworker but in 1999 he attended a Ukulele making class. After a few Ukuleles for friends and the like, he entered a Ukulele in the HFIA Annual State Wide Juried Wood Working Show and won best musical instrument. This endorsement led him to start selling commercially as Koa Works, making mainly custom Tenor Ukuleles - I have seen some Concert ones too. In 2012 he retired from the fire service and is now a full time luthier.
He uses a turtle as his headstock logo and when he first started selling Ukuleles they were made distinctive with a long point in the headstock. More recently he has switched to a more normal single sided headstock.
From Kohala, Hawaii, he has been making instruments since 1975 having studied classical and flamenco Guitar in Spain. As well as making Guitars he makes all scales of Ukulele, including Bass Ukuleles, Lili'u and Taropatches. He is fond of inlay work too and most of his Ukuleles have a signature notch in the top of the headstock.
Now based in Kula, Maui, and most famous for his archtop Guitars. He started out in 1972 in Seattle as a Mandolin maker who made some Soprano and Concert Ukuleles on the side. In 1989 He moved to Hawaii and was pretty much exclusively a Guitar maker. Some awards and design innovations later he has now reintroduced Ukuleles to his catalogue making Concert, Tenor and Baritone Scales, oddly though he doesn't make archtop Ukuleles?
From Capilla del Monte, Cordoba, Argentina, he studied luthiery at the Classical Guitar Luthier School of the National University of Tucuman graduating in 2008. After this he worked in local music shops as a repairman before setting up his own workshop in 2013. He makes classical Guitars and all manner of Latin American chordophone including Charangos, Colombian Tiples, Venezuelan Cuatros, Mexican Requintos, Cuban Tres, Brazilian Cavacos and Ukuleles.
