From Hagerstown, Maryland, Beard Guitars was founded by Paul Beard in 1985 and they specialise in Resonator instruments, making their own cones as well as all the woodwork. The firm has grown over the years, increasing in the number of staff employed and the catalogue, which has increased to include resonator Ukuleles. 

The standard model Ukulele has a Mahogany body and comes as Soprano, Concert or Tenor, but they will use other woods as a custom request; in fact I think they only make Ukuleles as a custom request. There is now some kind of licencing/consultation deal in place with Gold Tone for Resonator Guitars.
