Semantics

Semantics is the meaning behind a word, phrase, or sentence. 

• Semantics is used in all content areas 

• The person on the receiving end is able to understand the person communicating because of semantics.

• By using semantic mapping, students are able to understand word meanings further by providing a visual connection between a word and a related concept.
