As you move through Year 10 we'll be supporting you to choose your next steps. During Year 10, Careers will be a part of your whole school journey. You will learn about Careers in your weekly Careers lessons, as well as during Personal Development and as part of your whole curriculum in Year 10 and beyond. If you have chosen one of College link courses (Skills for Independent Living and/or Construction) as one of your options, you will learn how you would apply the skills you are learning in your future Careers.
You will have two Careers meetings with a professional Careers Advisor and school staff you already know. At the second meeting we will invite your parents to join along with Mr Parkin so we can support you and your family in naming your Post 16 Destination. Mr Parkin and the Careers Advisor as well as representatives from local Colleges will also be at Parents Evening. In term 3 you'll be invited to attend a Careers Fair to meet Staff from local Colleges and other Post 16 Providers. Also in Term 3 we'll have an Open Evening for Laleham's Post 16 Provision in the Phoenix Building where you and your parents will be given a tour and have the opportunity to ask any questions. In preparation for your Work Experience week during the first term of Year 11 you will have a one-to-one meeting to discuss your goals and interests.
