Careers learning is cross curricular with all departments offering Careers related learning opportunities. Pupils will have the opportunity to complete a work experience placement during the autumn term. Pupils will benefit from a further careers meeting with the Careers Advisor. Mr Parkin and the Careers Advisor will be available at the Year 11 parents evening for additional support if necessary.Â
In preparation for Post 16 transition and alongside classroom-based work, we have held multiple individual careers meetings with our young people and a Careers Advisor from The Education Business Partnership to provide impartial careers advice and guidance. We will be holding a further careers meeting in Term 2 to discuss plans for Post 16 and beyond.
The aforementioned careers advisor will be present at Year 11 parents evening along with representatives from local colleges should you wish to discuss post 16 transitions and options.
During Term 1 Year 11 will take part in a week's work experience, for more details please visit the Work Experience section of the website.
We would recommend considering/visiting a variety of post-16 Further Education/Training Providers to get an idea of what type of provision is going to be best for your young person and to investigate courses and support. A list of local alternative providers can be found in the Future Pathways section of the website.
The majority of College/Sixth Form/Training Providers offer Open Days but also welcome direct requests for information or visits.
