Kosofe LGEA Welcomes Courtesy Visit from Muslim Teachers Association of Nigeria (MUTAN), Kosofe Branch
Education in Kosofe Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) continues to reflect our commitment to inclusivity, unity, and development for the benefit of all. On Thursday, the management of the Muslim Teachers Association of Nigeria (MUTAN), Kosofe Branch, paid a courtesy visit to the Education Secretary. The visit, led by newly inaugurated Chairman, Mr. Ajeniya, focused on discussing various initiatives to enhance education and cater to the needs of both pupils and teachers within the Muslim community.
Several exciting initiatives were proposed during the meeting, which are set to benefit pupils and strengthen bonds among teachers. Among the key developments discussed were:
Quiz Competitions during Ramadan: An opportunity to engage pupils in healthy intellectual competition while fostering their spiritual growth.
Regular Meetings with Muslim Teachers: To ensure ongoing communication and collaboration on educational issues, further uplifting the teaching profession in Kosofe.
Ramadan Lecture: A lecture series during Ramadan aimed at enhancing Islamic knowledge for both pupils and teachers, ensuring that education in Kosofe is spiritually nourishing as well.
Eid Party for Pupils: To celebrate with pupils after Ramadan, bringing joy to their lives and reinforcing the sense of community and shared culture.
The Qur’an emphasizes the importance of education and knowledge, as Allah says, "Are those who have knowledge and those who have no knowledge alike? Only the men of understanding are mindful." (Qur'an 39:9). With this in mind, Kosofe LGEA is proud to support these initiatives that align with the growth of education, faith, and community well-being.
Additionally, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The seeking of knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim." (Hadith, Ibn Majah). These planned initiatives reflect the belief that education is key to unlocking both worldly and spiritual success, empowering our children and educators alike.
We were honored to have the following distinguished individuals in attendance during the visit:
Mr. Lawal Ajibowo
Alhaja Thanni
Mr. Ajeniya, newly inaugurated Chairman of MUTAN
