Kosofe LGEA Meets with Kosofe Local Government Chairman to Drive School Development Initiatives
In a bid to ensure the continuous growth and development of schools under Kosofe Local Government, a crucial meeting was held between the Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barr. Moyosore, and Headteachers from 18 schools and 7 centers under Kosofe Local Government Education Authority (LGEA). This meeting, focused on the pressing needs of schools, reflects the Chairman's unwavering commitment to uplifting education within the local government.
Key issues discussed at the meeting included:
Security in schools to ensure a safe learning environment for pupils.
Provision of clean water and basic amenities.
Running costs to support Headteachers in effectively managing their schools.
Environmental concerns and waste management.
Electricity challenges and the proposal for solar power installations to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
New school uniforms for pupils to promote equality and unity among students.
The meeting saw the presence of important stakeholders, including:
Barr. Moyosore, Chairman of Kosofe Local Government
Mr. Babatunde Shoneye, Education Secretary of Kosofe LGEA
Alhaji Nasir, Head of Department (HOD) of Education at Kosofe LG
Mrs. Bolanle Arokoye, representing the Department of State Services (DSS)
Headteachers from the participating schools
Headteachers had the opportunity to present their concerns and requests directly to the Chairman. The feedback was carefully documented, and the Chairman assured that the issues would be addressed with the best possible solutions in the nearest future.
In a commendable move, Barr. Moyosore proposed that this meeting will now take place twice per term—at the beginning and the end of each school term—to ensure ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the Local Government and the educational community. This initiative is aimed at closely monitoring progress, addressing challenges as they arise, and keeping headteachers informed and involved in decision-making processes.
This meeting is a clear indicator that Kosofe Local Government is prioritizing education and working hand-in-hand with Kosofe LGEA to uplift the schools and ensure a better learning environment for our pupils. The future of education in Kosofe looks bright with this kind of collaborative approach, where the concerns of schools are addressed and solutions are implemented swiftly.
We applaud this initiative and look forward to more fruitful engagements between Kosofe Local Government and the schools within Kosofe LGEA.
