As we bid farewell to 2024, it’s time to reflect on the incredible year we’ve had at Kosofe LGEA. From remarkable achievements to joyous celebrations, this year has been filled with moments that have strengthened our community and showcased the talent, determination, and spirit of our pupils, teachers, and staff. Let’s relive some of these highlights together.
January - New Beginnings: We kicked off the year with enthusiasm as schools reopened with renewed energy. Teachers and pupils returned to classrooms, ready to embrace learning and new challenges. Orientation sessions for newly enrolled pupils set the tone for a successful academic year.
February through to November (Academic Excellence) : February saw our pupils preparing and participating in the series of Quizes and Competitions. Winning Several of them in 1st Place, 2nd Place and Third Place. The Co-curricular Teachers and pupils all demonstrating their academic prowess and dedication.
March - Celebrating Creativity: Throughout March, the 40 schools under Kosofe LGEA held their individual Arts and Crafts Exhibitions, where pupils displayed their creative projects. From paintings to handmade crafts, the event highlighted the importance of nurturing creativity alongside academics.
April - Teacher Development: April was marked by workshops and training sessions for our teachers to enhance their skills and teaching methods. These sessions focused on modern educational techniques, ensuring our pupils receive the best learning experience possible.
May - Community Engagement: May featured the Children’s Day Celebrations, where schools held events to honor and celebrate our young learners. These activities underscored the importance of teamwork and joy in education.
July - Competitions and BESS Football: July was vibrant with the BESS Football Competition, which brought out the competitive spirit in our pupils. Pupils engaged in healthy competition, displaying teamwork and resilience.
September - Back to School: The new academic session began in September with much excitement. Pupils returned eager to learn, and teachers introduced innovative lesson plans to keep the momentum going.
We also celebrated Girl-Child Day, during which one of our girls was awarded a prestigious scholarship, showcasing her exceptional potential. Another proud moment was when one of our boys emerged as the One-Day Legislator at Kosofe Local Government.
November - Vocational Excellence and Infrastructure: A significant highlight was the Lagos SUBEB Y2024 Festival of Vocational Education Exhibition, where Kosofe LGEA took first place. From arts and crafts to vocational projects, our pupils demonstrated incredible creativity and innovation, making us all proud.
Additionally, new Headteachers were inducted, marking a fresh chapter in leadership. Kosofe LGEA and other 19 LGEAs in Lagos State also hosted the Common Entrance Exams for the first time, showcasing our commitment to academic rigor.
This year also saw several schools rebuilt, renovated, and commissioned, creating better learning environments for our pupils.
November - December - Inter-House Sports: As the year drew to a close, the 40 schools under Kosofe LGEA held their individual Inter-House Sports Days, bringing vibrancy and excitement to the school communities. Pupils showcased their athletic talents in various sports and games, competing with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. It was a delight to witness the dedication of our pupils and the support from teachers and parents, making each event truly memorable.
December - Christmas Carol Celebrations and End of the Year Party: The festive spirit lit up our schools during December as pupils, teachers, and families came together for the Christmas Carol Celebrations. Beautiful carol renditions, captivating performances, and heartfelt decorations filled the air with joy and unity. These events weren’t just about celebration; they reminded us of the importance of community, love, and kindness. End-of-the-year Parties were also celebrated in the schools and also in the LGEA.
A Year of Growth and Gratitude: 2024 has been a year of growth for Kosofe LGEA. Through consistent efforts, we’ve seen progress in academic performance, extracurricular engagement, and community involvement. These milestones are the result of the collective commitment of our staff, pupils, and supportive parents.
In this year of Gratitude and Growth, we express our heartfelt appreciation to the Local Government Chairmen of Kosofe LGA, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, and Ikosi-Isheri LCDA for their unwavering support. Our gratitude also extends to the NGOs and important stakeholders who have made these achievements and celebrations possible.
As we wrap up this year, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made these achievements possible. The dedication, hard work, and unity displayed throughout 2024 have been truly inspiring.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are filled with optimism and excitement for what lies ahead. Together, let’s continue to create impactful moments and strive for excellence in everything we do.
